Customer Enquiries
An enquiry from RugRate is a person who has already described their rug, their building and their timing — and who chose to contact you specifically.

How an Enquiry Reaches You
Four steps, with no marketplace in the middle.
The customer describes the job
Our quote builder walks them through fiber, size, condition, building access and timing before they contact anybody. They arrive knowing what they are asking for.
They pick who to contact
The customer chooses the companies, from your listing, a borough page or a service page. Nobody is auto-matched and no enquiry is routed to whoever paid most.
It reaches you directly
The enquiry goes to the contact details on your listing. It is not held in a marketplace, not resold, and not counted against any allowance.
You reply with a written quote
Same scope, written down, with what is included and what is not. That written quote is what protects both of you if the job changes.
What actually moves the needle
Getting Better Enquiries
Not more enquiries — better ones. Jobs you want, from people ready to book.
- Publish your pricing basis — customers overwhelmingly contact the companies whose numbers they can already see
- Say which boroughs you genuinely cover, so the enquiries you get are ones you want
- State your minimum job charge, which filters out the jobs too small to be worth your van
- Answer within a day; most people contact two or three companies and book the first solid reply
- Say no clearly when a job is not for you — it costs nothing and it is remembered well
An Honest Note on Volume
Listings are opening borough by borough, so RugRate is not yet sending a steady stream of work to anybody. We would rather say that plainly than quote a traffic figure you cannot verify. What a listing does today is exist, be accurate, and be there when your borough opens.
Enquiry FAQs
Do I pay per enquiry?
No. Enquiries are part of the free listing, and there is no per-lead charge.
Is my enquiry also sent to competitors?
Not by us. The customer decides who to contact, and often contacts two or three companies deliberately — but we never take one enquiry and sell it to several companies at once.
How many enquiries will I get?
We are not going to guess. The site is building its company coverage borough by borough, and any number quoted today would be invented. What is under your control is being easy to choose.
Can I get enquiries for boroughs I do not serve?
Only if your listing says you serve them. Keeping the service area honest is the simplest filter there is.
What if an enquiry is abusive or fake?
Tell us through the contact page. Patterns of abuse get blocked, and nothing about it counts against your listing.
