1. What RugRate is
RugRate is an information and comparison website for rug and carpet cleaning in New York City. We publish typical price ranges, explain how services work, and list companies so you can compare them.
RugRate does not clean rugs or carpet. The work is carried out by independent companies, and any agreement for cleaning is between you and that company.
2. Using the site
You may use RugRate for your own purposes, personal or business, provided you do not:
- copy the site’s content in bulk or republish it as your own
- scrape, overload or interfere with the site or its security
- submit content you do not have the right to submit
- impersonate another person, company or RugRate itself
3. Prices and information
Price ranges on RugRate are typical market figures for New York, not quotes or offers. The cost calculator produces an estimate from those ranges and is not a price you can hold anyone to.
Only a written quote from a company is binding, and only on the scope that quote describes. We work to keep information accurate and current, but we cannot guarantee it is complete or error-free.
4. Company listings
Listings show details a company has provided or that are publicly available. A listing is not an endorsement, a recommendation, or a warranty about the company’s work, licensing or insurance.
You should confirm licensing, insurance and any certificate of insurance your building requires directly with the company before booking.
5. Reviews and reports
Reviews must describe your own first-hand experience of a job and follow our review guidelines. Reports about problems go through a verification and right-of-reply process before anything is published.
You keep ownership of what you write, and you grant RugRate a licence to publish, display and format it on the site. We may remove content that breaks the guidelines, and we may decline to publish reports we cannot verify.
6. Payments
RugRate is free for customers. We do not take payment for cleaning work, do not hold money on your behalf, and do not process payments between you and a company.
Business services such as listings or advertising are paid for by companies, and paid placement is always labelled and never presented as a ranking or a score.
7. Liability
Because the cleaning is done by independent companies, RugRate is not responsible for the work, for damage or loss to your property, or for any dispute between you and a company.
We provide the site as it is. To the extent the law allows, RugRate is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the site or reliance on the information published on it. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
8. Changes
We may update these terms as the site develops, for example when accounts, listings and reviews open. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
