How Pickup and Delivery Works
What a proper job involves, in order.
At a cleaning plant
- Step 1
Booking
The company schedules your address into a route, usually with a time window rather than a fixed time.
- Step 2
Building requirements
Many buildings need a certificate of insurance and a booked service elevator before anyone can collect.
- Step 3
Collection
The rug is inspected briefly, rolled and wrapped, and tagged so it can be tracked at the plant.
- Step 4
Cleaning
Work happens at the plant: dusting, washing, rinsing, controlled drying and finishing.
- Step 5
Delivery
The rug is returned on a delivery route, and pads or furniture moving can often be arranged.

What Pickup and Delivery Costs
| Item | Typical range |
|---|---|
| Typical pickup minimum | $150–$250 |
| Travel or delivery fee | Varies; should be disclosed before booking |
| Storage between pickup and delivery | $20–$60 per rug per month |
A modest fee disclosed up front is a legitimate cost. A large fee that appears after the estimate is a warning sign.

How long will my rug be away?

What should I do before pickup?
Clear the floor, move small furniture, photograph both sides of the rug in good light, and point out stains and their history to the driver.
