Rug & Carpet Cleaning Reviews in NYC

Honest reviews help other New Yorkers avoid the gap between a quote and a final invoice. Here is how reviews work on RugRate.

Reviews Open With Listings

RugRate does not publish invented reviews or ratings. As verified companies are added borough by borough, their reviews appear here, each tied to a real job. Until then, you can still write yours and it will be published when your company’s listing goes live.

What Makes a Review Useful

  • What you asked for, and what the company quoted
  • Whether the final invoice matched the quote
  • Which method was used, and where the work happened
  • How long it took, door to door
  • How problems were handled, if any came up

What We Do Not Publish

  • Reviews written by anyone other than the customer
  • Complaints about a company you never hired
  • Personal details about staff, or anything unsafe to publish
  • Marketing copy, discount codes or contact details

Reviews and scores

Stars Are Not the Whole Picture

A company can hold a 4.8 star average and still score differently on transparency, response times or how it handles problems. That is why the RugRate Score is shown out of 5, separately from the star ratings it draws on.

How Reviews and Scores Work

Reviews — FAQs

Are there reviews on RugRate yet?

Not yet. Listings and reviews open as companies are added, and nothing here is invented in the meantime. When reviews go live, each one will be tied to a real job.

How is a review different from the RugRate Score?

A review is one customer’s experience, shown as stars out of 5. The RugRate Score is also out of 5, but it combines every rating a company holds with review volume, years in business and published detail — so a single review barely moves it.

Can a company remove a bad review?

No. Companies can respond to a review, and reviews that break the guidelines can be reported, but a company cannot delete honest feedback about work it did.

What makes a review most useful to other New Yorkers?

Specifics: the quote, the final price, the method, the timescale and how any problem was handled. That is far more useful than a star rating alone.
