What This Award Recognises
The purely review-driven category. It recognises the company New Yorkers rated best, with the arithmetic weighted so a company with many reviews is not beaten by one with three perfect ones.
The Criteria
All of these are checkable, and all of them are published before any judging happens.
- A minimum number of published reviews, so the average means something
- Reviews spread over time rather than clustered in one burst
- Reviews from more than one borough or neighborhood where the company claims to operate
- No incentivised reviews, review gating, or reviews traced to the company itself
- The rating sustained across the year, not a strong month
What It Does Not Mean
A high average with few reviews does not win this, and the rating is separate from the transparency score — a company can be loved and still be vague about pricing.
The 2026 Winner
No winner yet. This category needs enough verified companies and published reviews to judge honestly, and that is still being built. When it is awarded, the reasoning will be published here alongside the name.
